One decade has passed since Kelas Inspirasi was conducted at Elementary School 84, Palembang on 2014. Yet, the spirit and inspiration it created remain strong.
Kelas Inspirasi is a volunteer movement where professionals visit elementary schools to share their career stories, work experiences, and motivation to pursue dreams. The program started in 2012, and two years later, in 2014, I had the privilege to join and contribute to inspiring young students.
At that time, many students were not familiar with my profession, as “Koki Listrik“. Working in the power industry seemed uninteresting to them, mainly because they knew very little about it. Through this program, I aimed to broaden their understanding and show them how meaningful and exciting this industry can be.
I began the class with an engaging ice-breaking session, followed by stories about the discovery of electricity, how it works safely, and how it connects to our daily lives. The students were eager, curious, and full of energy throughout the session.
Participating in Kelas Inspirasi was a humbling and fulfilling experience. It reminded me that true inspiration often starts from simple conversations and genuine sharing. I am grateful to have contributed, even in a small way, to nurturing the dreams of the next generation.
