Imagine, how to move 300 tons Stator over 215 km to the project site, through the alternative routes. Navigating progress during the uncertainty of the pandemic Covid-19. Preservation Machine. Bringing together teams from different cultures and backgrounds to work as one, and how to ensure the conduciveness, safety, quality and target of project. That’s why this EPC Project is truly complex.
“While many people preferred to stay within their comfort zone, I chose to learn more and go deeper”
I used to Project Officer during the development of this Project. Ensure all the activities to catch up the milestone deadline. Seat down together for coordination, communication among Contractors and provide the solution for obstacle we face. Although the title Project Officer at time, in fact mostly I involved in many activities, such as: CSR Program, given the mandarin class to the surrounding people, involvement in Stakeholders management and active in multi cultures activities. While many people preferred to stay within their comfort zone, I chose to learn more and go deeper.
My leader often said, “Palugada”, means “Apa Lu Mau, Gue Ada” , a mindset of stepping up, adapting, and contributing wherever needed. It taught me to push my limits, stay curious, and provide the best effort I could. Those experiences have become valuable lessons that continue to shape my growth today.
EPC projects are among the most complex forms of project management. Even those with Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will tell you how demanding the standards, frameworks, and mental discipline can be, and yes, headaches too, haha.
Alhamdulillah, this very long story filled with challenges, learning, and collaboration successfully finished and completed through the shared effort of team, stakeholders support, trust among the team. The project transitioned from construction phase to operation phase, achieving COD in October 2023. And today, after more than two years of operation with zero forced outages, this plant stands as a reliable base load for Sumatra, supporting communities, industries, and growth quietly, consistently, and together. I am grateful to be part of this journey. The success is shared, and the work continues. Keep learning, keep growing.
